Senior Acoustics Consultant

SES is a local multidisciplinary consultancy providing environmental services, testing, sustainability and analysis requirements for Clients (mainly construction) throughout the South East.

We are looking to recruit an Acoustician who will have full responsibility to oversee all environmental noise works. This role is responsible for but not limited to the following:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Environmental noise surveys and assessments
  • Design reports across the RIBA design stages
  • Assessment of projects against British and International Standards
  • Liaison with statutory authorities, architects, the design team and contractors
  • Attendance at client, design and site meetings. Site inspections and reporting
  • Development of in-house software spreadsheets and design tools
  • Building acoustic models using CadnaA
  • Construction site noise, vibration and dust monitoring with monthly reports.

  • Member Institute of Acoustics
  • Experience of undertaking noise (and vibration) assessments for a range of projects and developments in the UK including a detailed knowledge of UK Planning Policy and Processes;
  • Demonstrable recent experience of delivering UK projects in accordance with:
    • DMRB and associated Interim Advice Notes
    • CRN and rail infrastructure projects
    • BS4142
    • ProPG; Planning and Noise
    • BREEAM and Building Acoustics Experience
  • Experience in using Cadna”A”noise modelling software package
  • Experience of interpreting and processing Acoustic datasets
  • Environmental Statement Experience (Desirable)
  • High level of proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Be a self-motivated team player with good people skills
